A prominent personality who has obtained his Ph.D. in the field of Economics from Bangalore University and Ph.D. in Computer Science from IIT, Madras and still bags a wholesome of nine other vast degrees in various disciplines. Dr Venugopal K R has authored and edited 23 books in Computer Science Engineering and Economics. He has published more than 125 research papers in referred International Journals and International Conferences. Currently Dr Venugopal K R is working as Principal of University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore.

He has over seven years of IT experience in the field of Embedded Systems and Digital Multimedia. He is currently authoring two books namely "Mastering Java" and "Data Structures in C" to be published by Tata McGraw Hill in 2011 respectively. His research interests include Ad Hoc networks, Sensor networks and Embedded Linux. He is involved in the Placement Training activities of the college. He is also the Treasurer of Sri Vijaya Vittala Charitable and Educational Trust.
